Mission
One of the greatest challenges of the 21st Century will be the rapid population growth in urban areas. In order to provide sustainable living conditions, strategic planning will have to be considered as a critical tool for future leaders. Purdue University meets this challenge by providing top students with a day long program, backed by current sustainable development research. The Sustainable Urban Planning Certificate Day is a multidisciplinary event that provides people in all spectrum of sustainability a chance to communicate and share views with each other. By satisfying the requirements of the Program, student participants will obtain a certificate in Sustainable Urban Planning signed by the Provost and Director of Sustainability at Purdue.
Application and Selection
Full-time students at Purdue University main campus will be allowed to apply from February 25th until March 22nd. Selection will be conducted from March 18th-22nd. Finalists will be notified the evening of March 23rd. Only 50 students will be accepted this year to the program.

Certificate
Student participates will receive certificates signed by both the Provost of Purdue, Dr. Tim Sands, and the Director of Sustainability, Michael Gulich, AIA, LEED AP.
